Thank you for your birthday message. Today I'm 54 years old. How many games will I be able to make by the retirement age, including the original action game that I'm currently making at Square Enix? I'd like to work hard to develop a game that everyone around the world can enjoy. pic.twitter.com/s74WdzWswc

Noah Lyles is a professional short track athlete who has beaten Usain Bolt's 200m record several times already, and is a favorite to win a gold at the Olympic Games taking place in Tokyo next year (Yahoo Sports).
He once showed his Sonic socks on his instagram once in 2018...
It would be cool if he would wear this pair at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 to win a gold medal - in the country where Sonic, the fastest hedgehog ever, was born! Don't you think?

Satoshi Okano-san once again clarified that the cover of SEGA Saturn magazine, illustration of Sonic 3D, and the character design of Samba de Amigo are his works, not of Uekawa-san's as often mistaken for. And he is surprised by the high amount of responses he received.
It was said, "I liked it, & you described" the cover of Segasaturn magazine and illustration of sonic 3D from Naka-san & Hoshino-san. The character design of Samba de amigo is my work. I 'm mistaken for most Uekawa-san of my work. I'm understands it. It's OK🙆♂️ pic.twitter.com/P8ssQCCqJZ
I understand it. I don't talk about my many pasts. I handed over the credit of samba de amigo to Uekawa-san. He is actually an art director. So, I'm a character designer🤗 https://t.co/VHxp7s8hZ4
Mechanic designer Yasuhiro Moriki-san once again dug out his old arts - now we get to see even more setting boards from Sonic X! ★See this post for previous collection of his Sonic X setting boards.

Gem Drop's head and game designer Yuichiro Kitao-san addressed this differences between SEGA logo used in Japan and international products, and this tweet gathered attention of many Twitter users and people from the gaming industry, including Naka-san.

On July 18th 2019 in Fushimi, Kyoto, Japan, an arson broke into the first office of Kyoto Animation (KyoAni) and set fire after spilling gasoline. It was in the middle of workhours and the office had 74 employees preparing for an interview by NHK. The gasoline caused explosion and massive fire, injuring the workers and resulted in killing at least 34 of them. This was the worst arson ever happened since Heisei era (1989-2019).
KyoAni is famous for its high-quality animation works as a result of the company's system of hiring salaried employees rather than freelance workers, unlike many other animation sudios. KyoAni's works are popular all over the world, and not only fans and creators who worked on its anime but also officials from oversea governments showed their grief and support towards KyoAni.
The members of Sonic franchise were no exception.
Junichi Kanemaru-san is shocked by the news dropped into his smartphone. He grieves deeply about it.
Aoi Yuki-san is determined not to talk about the incident. She states she doesn't want to end it just by sharing her sorrow with others, but think, anger, grief and pray about it by herself. Instead, she would intentionally share fun things on Twitter, because who knows how others would interpret her comments in unintended ways. She still feels confused and needs time to sort her feelings before commenting about it officially.
Tomoya Ohtani-san is feeling anger towards the news, which was a little relieved by watching 'Tenki no Ko (Weathering with You)' - but he still can't forgive the culprit for what he has done.
The company shows deep sorrow over the loss of their employees, especially those who were young and had bright future. They will be focusing on the support of the survivors and the families left behind, and leave all managements of media interview requests etc. to a lawyer.
If you would like to show your support to KyoAni, there are few options.
- Buy digital KyoAni products from online website. https://kyoani.shop-pro.jp/
- Make donation at gofundme page set up by Sentai Filmworks. https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-kyoani-heal
- If you are in Japan, make donation at Animate stores' donation boxes at their counter.
- Some places which KyoAni animes are based on also started placing donation boxes.
- Watch KyoAni animes on legal video streaming sites.
Do what you can do now. That's good enough.

It was Aaron's birthday on July 3rd! Katie from the SoA Sonic team posted a photo to celebrate it and Aaron replied on the following day, reporting that he's been enjoying Japan for the past week, as seen in his photo from Nara deer park and the tweet by Senoue-san few days ago with a photo of him and Aaron at Tokyo Joypolis!

The King of Pop passed away 10 years ago from this day. Upon reading an article about the close relationship Michael Jackson and SEGA had, Yuji Naka-san recalled his memory about him.
🔵Naka-san on an article about Michael Jackson and SEGA: "It's been 10 years since Mr. Michael Jackson passed away. I think this article was checked and approved by SEGA; many of its contents are nostalgic. It's a good memory that we played Power Drift together. By the way, - https://t.co/yxbYEiJ7n3
- the person who kicked my seat was a different person."
*It is explained in the article that as Michael Jackson visited SEGA HQ with his children and played Power Drift, Naka-san was ordered by Hisashi Suzuki-san to let MJ win. So Naka-san acted a thrilling race well, but -
- right in front of the goal MJ did a mistake on control and crashed so Naka-san won. Then somebody kicked Naka-san's seat in anger. The author of the article thought it'd most likely be Suzuki-san, but Naka-san clarified in his tweet above that it was somebody else.
To add-on, in the article it is stated that as Naka-san realized what happened (and got kicked in the seat by somebody), he couldn't stand up from his seat for a while...
Well, the strict rule of 'clients first' must be followed... The article doesn't state any negative afterstory of this, so I assume MJ left SEGA happily despite this incident. Pfew!
Michael Jackson was known as a huge SEGA fan. Whenever he visited Japan, he'd visit SEGA HQ and let Hisashi Suzuki-san, who was a very good friend of him, show him new games in developments and give advices for making them better since he, too, was a creator and entertainer.
It is still very memorable that Michael Jackson brought his own project of making a game about himself and made it happen while actively contributing to it. (Fun fact: this game was once shown in a popular Japanese TV show「トリビアの泉 (Fountain of Trivia)」, in which trivias and not-so-useful facts of everyday life were posted by audience. So apparantly many people (at least, non-gamers) in Japan didn't know about its existence.) The rhythm game 'Space Channel 5' series also has his cameo appearance. And not to forget, he also worked on the music of Sonic 3.
His legacy in SEGA games shall be passed down the generations.

🔵 Naka-san is impressed by the beach art of Sonic! He wonders how they create it, saying its perfectness almost makes him think it's a CG. https://t.co/lx1ektAqar
"This Sonic beach art is amazing. From the pictures it seems like the art is actually being drawn on real ground, but I'd like to watch a timelapse video of the process. And have a look at it with my own eyes."
- Yuji Naka
The artist then noticed Naka-san's mention and they had a little conversation!
Thank you ! Sorry I don't have timelapse of the process for this one ! It's difficult to do all alone also taking time for the drawing and the camera.
Yes I do it all alone. Sometimes friends help me for fun but for this one I was alone and running after the tide. That's why I can't do timelapse or additionnal videos all the time.
28 years ago from today, Sonic the Hedgehog was released in the US and sped through the gaming world like a fresh wind.
Today, not only the fans all around the world celebrated the birthday of our beloved Blue Blur, but messages from the people on the official side of Sonic development were seen on Twitter. Here is the summary!
The birthday of our beloved blue hedgehog is right in front of you, and there are several unique events happening around June 23rd!
Here is a summary of how to celebrate Sonic's birthday 2019 in Japan.
Bentley Jones, aka Lee Brotherton, has released a new mix of his song "Dreams of an Absolution", the theme of Silver the Hedgehog for 'Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)'!
Watch the MV and listen to his unchanged soothing voice with a new flavor.

🔵Ⅰ know I'm a little behind with this news, but anyway! Bentley Jones @Bentley_Jones released his 10th annivresary album & a music video to a new version of 'Dreams of an Absolution', the theme of Silver in Sonic the Hedgehog 2006! Check them out!https://t.co/w0BBM9P6OR
It looks like it's currently only the Sonic greetings that's going to take place. There won't be any stage event. I guess Iizuka-san's schedule didn't fit this time? Last year he came all the way from LA just to attend thie event!
I wish they would have planned TSR competition or something similar, it's be a great opportunity for that! Or live music event with Senoue-san and his 'Sonic Adventure Music Expenditure'! Would be a blast.
Kanemaru-san saw the news too and commented as follows!
今年こそは参加してみたいな…。
— 金丸淳一VoiceActor&Vocalist Kanemaru Jun-ichi (@junichisonic) May 27, 2019
And Kanemaru-san wishes to go there too! How cool would it be if there was a greeting with Kanemaru-san and Sonic?😊 Hopefully this will be realized someday!
