Through the second last livestream of Sonic Station LIVE!, we got information about another mini compilation album with acoustic music of  Sonic!
Sometimes, you gotta stob by and listen to the soothing music before carrying on your adventure...

My personal favorite of acoustic Sonic songs other than those listed in this compilation album is from Sonic and the Black Knight - the acoustic version of the main theme. The calm minor tune of violin reminds me of a calm night at Titanic Plain...

SONIC SOUND STATION is back!
Right before celebration of Sonic's birthday, Sonic Committee revealed another event - SONIC SOUND STATION (not a placeholder name anymore) #2 is happening, with 50 songs randomly played for 28 hours straight until the next Sonic Station LIVE! #5 on June 24th!

If you liked such stream, use the hashtag #ソニックステーションLIVE or #ソニステ to tweet about it on Twitter and we might get more of such streams! That would be very cool, don't you think?

There were guests appearing in the comment section again - this time, Senoue-san appeared twice, the second time with Hoshino-san and Katie from Sonic Team US! There were some interesting questions asked and answered there.

Sonic the Movie delayed in Japan, Japanese voice cast pray for success

 Japanese Sonic fans were patiently expecting the release of Sonic the Movie (Sonic the Hedgehog) in Japan on March 27th, but due to the current unforeseen and severe medical circumstances with SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, they are forced to wait longer when it was already behind the global release.

April Fool's Day and announcement of new era-name Reiwa in Japan

It's April Fool's Day!
People in Japan are enjoying this day as an event, including people related to Sonic development.
Also, every year, more and more companies are joining the bandwagon of releasing fake game news and announcements - including SEGA, of course.

However, this year in Japan, April 1st was also the day on which the new era name was announced by the government due to the abdication of current Tennoh (Japanese emperor). The last time a Tennoh abdicated while he was alive was in the year 1817, so this event gathered attention of whole Japan. In order to avoid confusion and unnecessary information to fly around while the announcement happens, many companies decided not to do an April Fool's event on this day.

Instead, they joined the meme which spread immediately after the new era-name announcement, which you see below:

New era-name of Japan was announced to be 令和 Reiwa - and its announcement style immediately became a hot topic and meme

Vsit SEGA FES 2019 in Akihabara on March 30th and 31st!


Summary from the official website:

  • Team Sonic Racing demo play in first floor demo game corner. Players obtain a special sticker.
  • A limited edition 'Umai-Bou' (stick snack) with Sonic design. Some will be distributed to early arrivals, the rest can be obtained by playing MEGA UFO CATCHER in the first floor.

  • Shiro Coppe (White Coppe Bakery)'s booth will attend the event, and attendants can buy the Sonic Chili Dog collaboration menu together with a collaboration tin badge. An acryl key chain will be sold at 500 yen + tax.
  • Sonic goods at merchandise corner: Sonic the Hedgehog plush ball chain, Japanese Sonic 'Tatami coaster' (4 versions), Japanese Sonic T-shirt ver. 4

  • Sonic will attend the event too! Look for him and take photos with him!
