As development of Team Sonic Racing started, Jun Senoue-san was appointed as the lead composer of the game by Sonic series director Takashi Iizuka-san. Using his longtime experience as a composer for Sonic series and various racing games, he created new sounds by combining elements of both. And that's not all! This time he added a special topping - the keyword "team" from the game's theme and tagged with many various composers for many of the tracks!

As the music productions were being finished very much ahead of the game release, the US's Sonic the Hedgehog official account released music vides of TSR sounds one by one, and Senoue-san gave us further behind-the-scenes talks and his thoughts on composing music for the game together with many other talented musicians on Twitter!

Here is a summary of Senoue-san's insights, comments and questions to you on the music of Team Sonic Racing!

The CD release on May 29th!

Senoue-san happily announces the release of both physical and digital versions of "Team Sonic Racing: Maximum Overdrive"!

He visited the CD shop Tower Records of Shinjuku with TORIENA on the release day! Look at that display!

Further insights to the CD release:

Senoue-san has once joined Horita-san's music for PSO2 with guitar, so this time he invited him back. Since both Senoue-san and Ohtani-san already have composed music for ocean-themed stages, Senoue-san decided to give Horita-san the part to hear what his ocean music is like.

If you can, buy the physical copy of the CD and read through the booklet that comes with it to read Senoue-san's and some of the participated composers' notes on each track!

And more stuff coming!

They have a special corner with game music soundtracks in Tower Records Shinjuku with a huge Sonic panel with the render from Sonic Forces! Senoue-san's new album is displayed right next to TSR: Maximum Overdrive. Really cool!
