Another interesting backstory from Maekawa-san on production of Sonic!
This time it's about Sonic Heroes, the last cutscene of Team Dark's story.

これ、CG担当のアメリカ人に最も理解されなかったシーン。
何度言っても「なんでここでルージュがウィンクするんだ？ 意味がわからん！」って口論になり結局「わかんなくてもいいから絵コンテ通りにしろ！」って飯塚さんが押し通してくれたのを今でも思い出す。😌 https://t.co/HjQosUPP2r

どんだけ話し合っても分かり合えないことはある。そういう前提が必要なんだと学んだ良い機会でござった。

"Oh, somebody here understands that scene well. The CG creator in the US had the most difficulty to understand this scene. No matter how many times I explained, they said -

- 'I don't understand why Rouge winks here. Why?!' and we got into arguments. At the end, Iizuka-san helped me and pushed it through, telling them 'It doesn't matter if you understand it. Just make it as it is directed in the storyboard!'. I still remember that." -

Wow, they didn't understand the scene? That's so sad, I don't understand whny they didn't get it either.
It must've been a hard time for Maekawa-san trying to convince them...
And Iizuka-san did a good job there! Thanks to them we have the great scene as it is meant to be. Good grief.
