http://sonic.sega.jp/TeamSonicRacing/game/#contents-06

There will be 14 different Wisps as weapons available!
They have different abilities in attack or defense while racing.

Let's look at them one by one!

1. Blue Cube
Places an obstacle that spins the opposing racers when they bump against it. You can also use it as a shield wall by launching it behind you.

2. Crimson Eagle
A homing bullet which chases and attacks the closest opposing racer ahead of you.

3. Orange Rocket
Launches a rocket which bounces when hitting against a wall.

4. Ivory Lightning
Attacks all opposing racers with higher rank than you with an unavoidable lightning.

5. Jade Ghost
Transforms you into a ghost who can drive through obstacles or other racers. Additionally, steals a Wisp from opposing racer closeby as the effect ends.

6. Cyan Laser
Shoots a laser which can spin an opponent.

7. Black Bomb
Spins opposing racers caught by the explosion after bouncing off from the ground a few times.

8. White Boost
Activates Boost Dash. The shock wave caused by activation protects you from incoming attacks.

9. Yellow Drill
Speeds through the course automatically while being invincible. The effect time depends on your current rank.

10. Pink Spike
Spiky balls appear around your machine and opponents who touch them will spin.

11. Red Burst
Blows fire from the back of your machine and spin opponents who touch it.

12. Violet Void
Bends the dimention and sucks rings and item boxes around you. It also sucks attacking Wisps aimed at you.

13. Grey Quake
Builds poles in front of the top racer. The user and their teammates won't be damaged when hitting against these poles.

14. Magenta Rhythm
Blocks the sight of opponents ahead of you with musical notes.

MUSHA programmer thanks Naka-san for his progam

News from 2019.04.19
Archived on 2019.04.26

For porting MUSHA to MEGA DRIVE MINI, Yuichi Toyama-san, the programmer of the game, thanked Yuji Naka-san for his program he left for his fellow programmers to use.
"I was surprised to know that MUSHA is trending in Twitter while I was drinking.
MUSHA's great game design is the work of Kazuyuki Nakashima-san, its gameplay is that of Takayuki Hirono-san, good sound effects by Tokimi Wadamo-san, and the reason we could spare memory to put demo screen is because of Yuji Naka-san! Congratulations to its port to MEGA DRIVE MINI!"
- Yuichi Toyama

"Oh yes, this one. The nostalgic CMM.EXE. From the time stamp it looks like an older version, but it says Super Character Maker for MEGA DRIVE. I thought it stayed MarkV the whole time. I wonder if it works with current computers. Thank you for keeping it safe for this long. We could make a MEGA DRIVE software even now."

Maekawa-san on Maria's Adios/Sayonara difference

News from 2019.04.19
Archived on 2019.04.26

Maekawa-san explains this goodbye line of Maria in SA2:

A fan addressed a rumor about the difference of Maria's line between Japanese and English versions that says Maekawa-san changed the line from 'Adios...Shadow the Hedgehog' (Japanese version) to  'Sayonara...Shadow the Hedgehog' (English version) as an homage to Terminator 2's Spanish version and Japanese versions.

Maekawa-san replied as follows:
"For this, I was told that 'adios' in English version would make people think of a Mexican, and also it wouldn't make the line as impressing as it should be, so I changed it to SAYONARA."
- Shiro Maekawa

Interesting that foreign languages in diffrent cultures give different impressions!
Spanish is more foreign than English for Japanese, so it gives stronger impression to us.
It must be different in regions close to Latin America where Spanish is more common.
