SEGA Official's fan meeting event in Ōsaki on 26th Jul

SEGA, the gaming compay which has been publishing many unique products over the past six decades, has attracted many hardcore fans who claim themselves as not only a fan of a specific game but fans of the whole SEGA brand - the 'SEGA fans'.

And SEGA, as a company which values its customers, wishes to show their gratitude towards those loyal fans. For the 'SEGA off-event', a fan meeting event lead by the person behind Japan's SEGA Official Twitter account, SEGA fans are invited at SEGA HQ for a chance to get to know SEGA even better. The event was a huge success last year, and so this time, the same event happened for the first time at their brand new HQ in Osaki with double the number of people invited.

Preparation by SEGA Official staffs

The event has been announced to take place on July 26th.




The application for the event has ended and the lucky 32 people were sent an invitation to the fan meeting. SEGA Official promises that they will live-tweet the event on the day!


They also prepared a 'communication card' for making the interaction between fans easier.


And the day has come! 

For the SEGA Official account fan meeting, staffs are making final installations of displays. All the displays are handmade!


Two hashtags are available for the day - one for the people who actually attend the event, and another one for those who couldn't come but want to join anyway as an 'pretended fan meeting' online. :D

The person behind SEGA Official is becoming nervous as the opening time nears...


And the event has started!
The SEGA Official was very busy on that day so a live report was not available, but they later released a photo summary!
Instead, the event was live-tweeted by fans, which can be seen with the hashtag #セガ公式アカウントオフ会 .

(Edit: The correct name of their HQ location is not Ohzaki but Ōsaki/Ohsaki. My apologies!)




And those cute artworks of Sonic characters are for the online lucky tombola of Sonic that is available until August 25th on SEGA Plaza! The staffs worked high-pitched to make them available for this fan meeting day. They are incredibly adorable, thank you!












...That's it! From the tweets and reports by the attendants, it is clear that the SEGA fans enjoyed the event very much. It didn't matter if they are fans of Sonic, arcade games, SEGA hardwares or SEGA's Taiyaki; they all have one thing in common: they love SEGA.

And all the SEGA departments, though the approach might be different between SEGA of Japan and SEGA of America, also have one important thing in common: they value their fans and try their best to provide best service and entertainment for them. And SEGA has proved this once again on this day with the SEGA Official fan meeting event.

Next year is the 60th anniversary of SEGA. I hope SEGA stays the way it is, with the spirit of 'Creation is Life' at its core, to provide best Service and Games to the world.
